Copycat Chili's Black Beans
A tasty side dish that I always serve with a copycat version of Chili's Margarita Chicken.
2 (15.5 ounce) Cans of Black Beans (La Costena or Bush’s)
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
Place all ingredients in saucepan and mix thoroughly.
Let simmer for about 20 - 25 minutes.
I've been making this at least 10 years.I serve it as follows:
Place 1/2 cup beans on the bottom of plate. They should cover the middle of the plate.
Place Margarita Chicken Breast in the middle, a serving of rice on the side, a generous helping of pico de gallo, and sprinkle with a tablespoon of crushed tortilla chips
I have tried substituting pinto beans and it is not as good.
