Jea said, I can cut the small pan of crisp into 6-9 pieces. DH would have it serve 4! I would make crisp over pie anytime. (DH peels the apples for me)."
6 Tablespoons butter
3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
Enough apples to cover the bottom of the pan (nice and THICK)
1/2 cup water
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
To make the crumbly mixture:
Combine the butter, flour and sugar in a bowl.
Mix until crumbly with a fork or pastry cutter; set aside.
To make the filling:
Peel and slice enough apples to cover the bottom of the pan "nice and THICK".
Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon.
Pour the water over the apples.
Cover the apple layer with the crumbly mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned (time varies).
To make enough crumbly topping for a 9x13-inch pan, increase the ingredients to:
8 Tablespoons butter
1 cup flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
