Angel Biscuits :rectnt

Angel Biscuits

These are kind of dense, but they are so good.
Ingredients:

1 package yeast (I use one tablespoon)
1/3 cup warm water
5 cups flour
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
3 teaspoons sugar
2 cups buttermilk

Instructions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup warm water.
Mix rest of dry ingredients and cut in shortening.
Add yeast mixture and buttermilk.
Mix well.
Roll out and cut (I use a glass).
Place on cookie sheet and let rise for about 30 minutes.
Bake at 425 F. for 10-12 minutes.

Dough can be refrigerated for up to three days. If using cold dough, let rise a little longer.
