Apple Crisp

I've made this one for many years.

4 cups sliced, pared, cored baking apples (approximately 4 medium)
Dash of salt
2/3 to 3/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup soft butter

Number of Servings - 6 to 8

Place apples in a greased 8" square pan.
Sprinkle with salt.
Blend together the brown sugar, sifted flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and soft butter until crumbly.
Spread over apples.
Bake at 375°F. for 30-35 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
Serve warm with whipped cream, ice cream, or hard sauce.

Pat's Notes: Don't use pie filling, it is too sweet.
