Slow Cooker Roast Au Jus
This is a flavorful, easy to make roast that is enjoyed by my whole family.
1 (4-5 lb.)lean beef roast
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3/8 teaspoon garlic powder
pepper or other desired seasoning
1 can beef consommé (Campbell's)
1 envelope au jus gravy mix (French's or Durkee’s is good)
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
Place roast in slow cooker.
Combine seasonings with consommé and gravy mix; pour over roast.
Cover and cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8 hours.
Mix cornstarch with a small amount of cold water and stir into gravy in slow cooker.
Heat on high for about 15 minutes, until gravy thickens.
Slice roast across the grain.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
Serve with mashed potatoes and a side salad.
