Flaky Cheese Danish

Flaky Cheese Danish
Ingredients:
2 8-ounce tubes crescent rolls, divided
1 1/4 cup sugar, divided
1 large egg, separated and divided
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
Unroll one package of crescent rolls, separate and place on the bottom of a 13 inch by 9 inch baking dish; press seams together.
Cream together one cup sugar, egg yolk, cream cheese and vanilla.
Spread mixture evenly over crescent rolls.
Unroll the remaining tube of crescent rolls and place over top of cream cheese mixture.
Beat egg white until frothy; brush over crescent rolls.
Mix together cinnamon, remaining sugar and walnuts; sprinkle on top.
Bake at 350º F for 30 minutes.
Makes 16 servings.
