Spicy Apple Syrup (LuAnn's)
For a change, ladle warm “Spicy Apple Syrup” over pancakes, waffles or ice cream.
YIELD: 1 1/2 cups syrup
1 cup cold water
1 (6-ounce) can frozen unsweetened apple juice concentrate
1/4 cup sugar (or to taste; may use alternative sweeteners, such as stevia or maple syrup)
1 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients.
Over medium heat, cook, stirring constantly, until the syrup thickens, bubbles and clears.
