1 globe artichoke
Rinse the artichoke well and trim off the base of the stem.
Our artichokes had stems about 12 inches long and as big around as a shovel handle and there was plenty of good easily edible 'meat'.
Wrap the artichoke in plastic wrap, sealing the sides and ends.
(This step was tough as the artichoke was so large I had to be careful of the placement so the plastic wrap wouldn't have large gaps in it.)
Place in a microwave and nuke for 10 minutes at 100%.
Carefully remove the artichoke from the microwave and allow to cool slightly before unwrapping...IT WILL BE HOT!
Serve with melted, salted butter or mayonnaise or in your favorite style.
