No-Salt Substitutes (two recipes)
NO-SALT SUBSTITUTE
This often asked for salt substitute is flavorful and will help you cut back on salt and still be able to enjoy tasty foods. Note: It uses onion and garlic powders, not salts..
Ingredients:

5 teaspoons onion powder
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon paprika
1 Tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon white pepper (can use black)
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds..

Instructions:

Mix all of the listed ingredients and store in a tightly covered, labeled container in a cool, dry place.
Don't store this or any spices above the stove: They'll lose their zip...

SALT-LESS SURPRISE
A smaller and onion-less recipe with a citrus zip.
Ingredients:

2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon powdered lemon rind
(or dehydrated lemon juice)..

Instructions:

Put ingredients into a blender and mix well.
Store in glass container.
You can add some uncooked grains of rice to prevent caking....
