Mix pudding with reserved juices and Jello or Tang.
Mix until smooth.
Add canned fruit.
Slice in 2 bananas and chill.
Note: I don't care for fruit cocktail, so never make it as above. So basically, I guess I am using the pudding, Jello idea as a marinade. I prefer to make this with fresh fruits, but I do use the pineapple and mandarin oranges), as we love the oranges. I keep adding fruit until I get the quantity and variety that I want. I usually use: fresh or canned pineapple, watermelon, blueberries, apples, peaches or nectarines, mangoes or papayas, kiwis, pears, and bananas, strawberries, and always the mandarin oranges. Add the soft fruit after everything has been well blended so it doesn't get too smashed. I have found that I don't like so much juice in it, and usually measure it so I have no more than 2 cups of juice. Add it gradually so there isn't too much liquid for your own tastes. One box of the pudding made as suggested above, goes a very long way with the fruit.
