3 cups onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 cans beef broth, fat free, low sodium (14 ounce per can)
1/2 cup uncooked pastina (pasta stars)
2 Tablespoons dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
parmesan cheese, grated
Spray large saucepan with cooking spray; heat over medium heat until hot.
Add onions and garlic.
Cook, covered for about 8 minutes.
Add sugar and stir.
Cook about 15 minutes.
Add broth and bring to a boil.
Stir in pasta and simmer, uncovered for about 8 minutes or until tender.
Stir in sherry, salt and pepper.
Sprinkle lightly with Parmesan cheese.
