Poppy Seed Dressing

Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon onion juice
1 cup salad oil
1 1/2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
Instructions:
Mix sugar, salt, and dry mustard together, breaking up any lumps in the dry mustard.
Mix in vinegar and onion juice.
Beat in oil or shake together in a quart jar until mixture is thick and smooth.
Stir in poppy seeds.
Store, covered, in refrigerator.

Notes by GourmetGal: This dressing is good on salad greens with vegetables, and also on fruit salads. I have served it on a combination of all three. I cut the oil to 3/4 cup, and only use about a Tablespoon or less of the poppy seeds, which seems to be plenty for us. I have also used balsamic vinegar instead of cider vinegar, and it turns out quite well that way.
