FYI: Cleaning Tip: Dried Blood Stain on Carpet
I just tried this on a dried blood stain about the size of a nickel. The stain has been there maybe all of a year now, and our carpet is a light grey/taupe color. The entire stain came right out, amazing!
ordinary table salt
Dampen the dried blood stain with the damp rag.
Sprinkle salt onto the stain.
Rub the salt into the stain with the rag.
Repeat until stain is gone.

As long as that stain had been there, I was sure it wouldn't come out, but I decided using salt was safe enough for the carpet. I only had to sprinkle and rub it twice, and the stain is completely gone.
