Orange Fritters

Circa 1901.
Ingredients:

3 large oranges
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 large egg beaten
1/2 cup milk1 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Peel oranges, removing outer white covering, remove skin from segments, roll in powdered sugar.
Beat egg, add milk, mix with flour, baking powder and salt sifted together.
Dip orange segments in batter, fry in hot fat.
Drain.
Dust with remaining powdered sugar, and serve with fish.
