1 (32-ounce) jar dill pickles, reserve liquid
Onion, sliced (no amount given)
Garlic cloves, peeled and sliced (no amount given)
1 1/2 cups sugar
Tabasco sauce, to taste
Drain pickles, reserving liquid and saving the jar and lid.
Layer sliced pickles in the pickle jar with sliced onions, sliced garlic, sugar and Tabasco sauce.
Fill jar to brim with the reserved pickle juice.
Shake a few times in the course of an hour.
Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
