1 large cucumber, scored with a fork, then thinly sliced*
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup vinegar
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Place cucumber and onion in a bowl.
In a separate small container, whisk together the vinegar, sugar and salt until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumbers.
Cover and refrigerate several hours before serving.
