3 large eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 pinch salt
3 cups whole milk
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
In the top of a double boiler, whisk together the whole eggs, sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk.
Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the spoon.
Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until the butter is melted.
