This is a clone of the Orange Julius drink that was sold in malls. I haven't seen them in any mall recently, so it is possible they no longer exist. It is close enough to be a good substitute for those drinks. I often serve these for brunches.
This is from my friend, Wendy, and was published in our service organization's cookbook, I Want That Recipe.
1 (6-ounce) can frozen orange juice
1 (6-ounce can) water
1 (6-ounce) can milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ice cubes
Put all ingredients into blender.
Blend at high speed until you can not longer hear the ice.
by jea MN: We use this recipe every Christmas morning. We all love it. I do use the raw egg. Once we forgot it and it was OK, rather like the ones you get at the Orange Julius locations (we have one in our mall). The egg makes them thicker and oh so good.
