My favorite. Takes me back to those sold in the high-school cafeteria.
Contest yield = 30 cookies.
1 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Cream first 4 ingredients; add eggs and vanilla.
Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake about 10 minutes at 350ºF.
Let rest for a minute before removing to cooling rack.
