1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 cups Special K cereal
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Boil the sugar and corn syrup until the sugar dissolves.
This doesn't take very long.
Mixture will look fairly clear instead of white.
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract and peanut butter.
Stir until smooth.
Add Special K cereal and mix well.
Pat into 8 or 9 inch square pan.
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butterscotch and chocolate chips until smooth.
Spread over cereal mixture.
Let cool and cut into squares.
(I usually double this recipe and put it into a 9 x 13 inch pan.)
