for chocolate base:
1/2 cup butter
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups Splenda, or equal sugar replacement
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 large eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped walnuts, or pecans
Melt base ingredients together in saucepan, over low heat, then remove pan and cool.
Mix ingredients except flour and nuts together, then add the chocolate mixture.
Mix well, then slowly add the flour, and beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased 8 x 8 pan, and bake at 350ºF for 20-25 minutes.
Cool on wire rack and cut in squares.
