1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/2 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (12-fluid ounce) can NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
1 (14.5 fluid ounce) can reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 cups (about 6 ounces) cooked ham, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 (15.5-ounce) can cannellini (white kidney) beans, undrained
1/2 cup frozen peas
Ground black pepper (optional)
HEAT oil in medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes or until onion is tender.
Stir in flour.
Gradually stir in evaporated milk and broth.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
Add ham, beans and peas.
Season to taste with pepper.
