desserts and the like? I ask, because I primarily cook from scratch, and I'm always needing something else. I have all the "staples" in the house, but those don't fulfill what I need to do.

Without shopping, I can make biscuits, gravy, cornbread, cakes, desserts, and bread and rolls, However, I don't make those things often at all (think almost NEVER, except cornbread once in a while).

My focus is fresh vegetables and some fruits, and that requires me to shop. I love salads--green salads; part green/part fruit salads; broccoli and/or cauliflower salads, pasta salads; potato salads--and so on.

It's the same for most soups--I need (broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach), onions, green and/or red bell pepper, celery, carrots, potatoes, blah, blah, blah.

In other words, most things I cook call for things from the produce aisle.

So, I guess I don't know exactly what you mean by needing extra ingredients, because I don't know what you're cooking?
