the broth. It was probably about 1/4 cup, although I didn't measure it. I also sent to my recipe box to check on my own recipe for French Onion Soup and it uses similar ingredients, without the thyme and sage. The other differences are that the onion is sauted in butter and it calls for a teaspoon of Worcestershire, but I would use more.
