Skillet Cookies

You will need: 1 stick butter or margarine, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, beaten, 1 cup chopped dates, 2 cup Rice Krispies, 1 cup chopped pecans, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Combine butter, sugar, eggs and dates.
Heat in skillet and cook 5 minutes until dates are soft.
Add Rice Krispies, pecans and vanilla.
When cool enough to handle, make mixture into small balls and roll in powdered sugar.
(Butter hands to work with mixture so it won’t stick to your fingers.)

This recipe is very good. Skillet Cookies were included in the assortment I was given for Christmas. My friend did not give me the recipe but I found it yesterday in the friend I am visiting cookbook. "The Busy Bees Keepsake Collection II" a collection of recipes dedicated to those who have battled cancer.

I texted her and told her I had found the recipe and asked if the ingredients were the same as her recipe and she said they were. She says they are easy to make. I'm not very fast with making balls of dough in a skillet so I'm not sure how it will work for me. No one I know has ever made Skillet Cookies until she gifted me with them. So I'll try them at some point. It may be next November or December.

i have made something similar but they were not called Skillet Cookies.
These were balls. She made the balls in the skillet while the dough was hot.

I've made a very similar recipe, years ago...
Buy some jump drives and get all of it on jump drives.

That is what I learned too. Guess we are old fashion now, or just OLD? *NM*
I don't think kindness ever gets old, does it?
I'm sorry you were subjected to that! Some people can say the ugliest, meanest things on
