Kitchen Roundtable

Thank you. I made these once when I lived in the South for a year. There was a call-in radio show

that I listened to daily. It was in Raleigh, NC, and I think it was called "Ask Your Neighbor". People would call in to ask for recipes and to contribute recipes, maybe other household hints. I did my share on both sides. I would tape (yes on cassette tapes!) the radio show and then play it over and over again so I could write down the recipes as I played it. I still have that notebook somewhere...

I think it was ironic that someone from NC called in a recipe for "Snow Cream" and being from NY, I HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT!!! After our return to NY, a friend wrote to me and said someone had called in and wondered what happened with the "the lady from New York". She told me she called in to tell them I returned to NY. I should have written down the number and called in to surprise them.

I got off the track a bit! :lol I meant to say that that is how I got a recipe for Black-Eyed Peas
Hope you like it, GG, we do. *NM*
We call it snow ice cream here.
Well, I have NOW! But it took a Southerner to enlighten me. On the other hand, when I was a kid,
We caught it falling, too, but it's a lot better
I'll have to try to find that notebook to see if I can find the recipe! *NM*
No hurry, but if you find it, the specs should be interesting.
