Cathy, what model/brand is that? I like that it can be used to

clean WINDOWS! Also stains out of carpets, although we have removed almost all of our carpeting and gone back to the original hardwood floors and replaced plywood/wall-to-wall carpeting in our addition with hardwood floors. But we do have area rugs, and the one in the family room sees a lot of traffic and needs cleaning. I don't want to buy a rug shampoo machine, but if I can get something that has other functions, that might work.

Mine is just a small handheld thing, so I don't know if it would *LINK*
I wouldn't need it to clean a whole carpet, just some spots like you said.
