Fried Green Tomatoes

I made Fried Green Tomatoes for the first time this summer yesterday.

I always have trouble with the Panko sliding off.

Any tips on how to keep the covering on?

I've tried flour and egg and it slides off too.

I'm cooking in a frying pan on a gas stove, not a deep fryer.
