in water as a meat tenderizer!
I always dreaded cooking pork chops because they wouldn't cook up tender for me. But tonight, I decided to try the tenderizer recipe, and it worked great!
I did, however, read different ratios of baking soda to water, and some said that sometimes there would be a weird taste to the meat and advised rinsing well. So, I used 1/2 teaspoon to a cup of water, and I rinsed the pork well after a 15 minute soak, rubbing with my fingers. Voila!
