** Just a historical note: The recipe in my Grandmotherís handwritten collection of recipes which she attributed to Aunt Daisy and the Loma Linda Sanitarium used half the amount of sugar as the otherwise identical recipe in my motherís collection (which she entitled Motherís Fruit Bars). Since I remember the cookies being made following my motherís copy of the recipe, I have kept her measurement when recording the recipe.
Grandmother/Aunt Daisy's recipe = 1 cup sugar for a full recipe (TWO PANS)
Mother's recipe = 2 cups sugar for a full recipe (2 pans)
