It seems this antique dealer/collector decided in 2010 to "hide in plain sight" a 12" x 12" treasure box of gold, jewels and ancient artifacts somewhere in the Rocky Mountains between New Mexico and Wyoming, if I remember correctly. He wrote a book (or two) with hints, a poem with clues and a map. The fellow was diagnosed with cancer in 1988 with a 20% chance of surviving. But after he overcame that, he decided to offer the treasure "to give people hope".
Over 350,000 people have searched for it, and at least four people have died in the last 10 years searching for it.
It's kind of intriguing, but I'm skeptical about the whole thing. It was a big deal in some circles, but I had never even heard of it until today.
I don't know, still waiting for news to confirm it. And if it's all real...
